Srinagar: JK Social Forestry employees Thursday staged a sit-in protest in Srinagars press enclave to press for their pending demands.
The protest led by Syed Gh Rasool Geelani General Secretary of JK Employees Joint Action Committee endorsed the demands of the employees and appealed Governor NN Vohra to intervene personally to settle all the long pending issues of social forestry employees.
Governor needs to speed up the amendment of recruitment rules of J&K social forestry non-gazetted which are pending in civil secretariat from last two years and also release the 2.5 Sundays salary and risk allowances to the forestry department and other departments, said Geelani.
Geelani further said that as per agreement signed in between the Government and JCC in 2011 in which government had agreed for formation and regularization policy for those casual labours who have been engaged after 1994 and removal of pay anomalies of various cadres have not settled so far, should be announced and settled immediately.
