Condemning the militant attack on EDI building at Pampore, Mehbooba said: No religion allows such dastardly acts of violence, which lead to spilling of innocent blood.
She also expressed grief over the killing of security personnel and a civilian in the ongoing encounter.
Mehbooba said Kashmir was going through a vicious circle of death and destruction for the past more than three decades and it had only brought miseries to the people.
Such acts of violence are aimed at not only disrupting the peace, but weakening the state economy and destroying the infrastructure, Mehbooba said in a statement.
She expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the everlasting peace of the departed souls. Mehbooba also prayed for early recovery of the injured.
The perpetrators of violence must realise that it is not through the gun and grenade that political problems are resolved. Dialogue and reconciliation are the only options for making headway in finding a solution, said Mehbooba.
