JAMMU: The stalls set up by the Department of Tourism Jammu and Kashmir and various organisations associated with travel trade and hospitality sector during the OTM Travel and Trade show at Mumbai received an encouraging response from the visitors who showed keen interest in the destinations and tourism products showcased .
Pertinent to mention that the Department of tourism with an aim to promote all the three regions of the state organised road show in club Andheri west ,interactive sessions with travel trade and media fraternity at the convention hall of Mumbai Exhibition centre and also Kargil night in collaboration with kargil travel trade and LHDC Kargil representatives at Lalit.
Secretary Farooq A Shah accompanied by Director Tourism Kashmir and Jammu along with other officers from RSGC ,SKICC ,JKTDC and tourism during their visit interacted with the representatives of Maharashtra tour operators association ,film producers and Directors associations and prominent names like Cox and kings ,Raja Rani ,kuoni and other travel trade bodies of central India and informed them about the prominent tourist destinations in the state.
Mushtaq Chaaya the Chairman of hoteliers club said that there is great response from the tourists from across the country and expressed hope that the year 2016 will be fruitful for the hospitality sector and tourism in the state .
Naasir shah of PILTOF,Nazir Mir of ACTo ,Ibrahim siah of TASK ,Akram siah of TTIG and Manzoor Pakhtoon of JKTA have echoed the same positive hope for the year 2016,they also added that it was the first time in the history of TTF that JK Tourism had established the huge pavilion which accommodated almost all the travel trade fraternity of Jammu ,Ladakh and Kashmir
Bollywood actor Imran Khan who is shooting for this upcoming movie Sargoshiyan in the valley while sharing his experiences said that the serene beauty of Kashmir offers unparalleled destination for shooting of films and it needs to be promoted and popularized.
