Pulwama: Life returned to normal in South Kashmirs Pulwama district on Friday. The district remained shut for four consecutive days against the killing of two students and a militant on Sunday.
Shops, business establishments, government and semi-government offices including coaching institutes reopened and transport plied on the roads.
Eye-witnesses told KNS that the day passed peacefully and markets here witnessed huge rush with people thronging to purchase essentials.
Two students, Mir Asif Farooq alias Danish Farooq and 22-year-old Shaista Hameed were killed in forces firing at civilians in Lelhar village and Kakapora town after the killing of a LeT militant, Adil Ahmad Wagay of Banderpora village in a brief encounter on Sunday.
The civilian killings evoked widespread condemnation and outrage. The government has also ordered a magisterial inquiry into the killings. (KNS)
