New Delhi: Hindu Scholar and Civil Society member Swami Agnivesh Saturday asked Government of India to shun the dual policy and initiate action against the Hindu Mahasabha leaders also who set Indian tricolor on fire while celebrating Indias Republic Day as Black Day in Meerut on 26 January last month.
If you are initiating action against JNU students and charging them for sedition for participating in Afzal Guroo programme, then you must book the Hindu Mahasabha leaders like Ashok Pandit that insulted not only tricolor but also Indian constitution, Agnivesh told CNS.
JNSU president Kanhaiya Kumars participation in pro-Afzal programme is taken as anti-India act and he along with other students is charged with Sedition.Hindu Mahasabha leaders like Pandit Ashok Sharma and Bharat Rajput celebrated Indias Republic Day as Black Day in Meerut and used derogatory and filthy language for Indian Constitution and even set Indian tricolor on fire, while demanding India should be made Hindu Rashtra. Are these leaders not liable for Sedition and responsible for insulting India. Why no action against them was initiated as has been initiated against Jawahar Lal Nehru University students, Agnivesh said.
He however said that raising anti-India slogans is not in the interest of India and only anti-India forces will get benefitted from such acts. All peaceful protests are welcome, however anti-country and violent protests should not be tolerated and action should be taken against those who insult and humiliate India, he added.
Pertinently, Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha while waving black flags on the streets of Meerut observed January 26, Republic Day, as “black day” and took oath to make India a “Hindu Rashtra.”Pandit Ashok Sharma, national Vice President of the Hindutva body, who organized the protest categorically told reporters that he never and will not believe in Indian Constitution.
