SRINAGAR: The students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) who reportedly raised slogans for Kashmir freedom during an event to remember Afzal Guru have been booked for sedition, media reports said.
Earlier, the varsity had ordered a proctorial inquiry into the clashes that erupted between organisers and BJP-affiliated ABVP members on Tuesday night.
Reports said that the students have been booked for sedition.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (g) cautioned, if the university authorities take any action against Kashmiri students, this will not only negate the democratic claims of this country but it will also have very strong reaction in Jammu and Kashmir and the Indian government will be responsible for all this.
