New Delhi: An event to mark 1000th death anniversary of the great 10th century Kashmiri philosopher-poet Abhinavagupt will be held at Vigyan Bhawan on February 13.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will preside over the function, being organised by Jammu Kashmir Study Centre, the Art of Living Foundation and some other organisations, to mark the death anniversary of Abhinavagupt who introduced Kashmir Shaivism.
Union Ministers Smriti Irani, Mahesh Sharma and Jitendra Singh will attend the event, said Jawaharlal Kaul, president of Jammu Kashmir Study Centre.
“Acharya Abhinavgupt is a forgotten hero who contributed significantly in the fields of philosophy, religion, dramatics and poetry and whose legacy needs to be revived,” said Kaul.
Various programmes, including a series of seminars, will be held across the country to spread awareness about the philosopher. An international seminar on Acharya Abhinavgupt will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru University around March, he added.
