BARAMULLA: The District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Yasha Mudgal, Wednesday chaired a meeting of officers at Kaman Post wherein she informed that trade across the LoC valued at Rs 3700 crore since 2008.
The meeting informed that a total of 34448 trucks crossed the LoC since 2008 of which 31567 trucks carried goods from Uri to Muzaffarabad, while as 2881 trucks have carried goods from Muzaffarabad to Uri, amounting to a total export and import of about Rs. 3700 Crore.
The meet aimed at improving the LoC trade through Uri and it comprehensively reviewed the status of the Cross-LoC trade.
Various issues related with the LoC trade like over-loading, increasing number of trucks, rates of commodities were also discussed.
The issues were taken into account by the concerned officers and the traders were assured that these issues will be solved effectively.
The meeting was attended by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Uri, Joint Director Industries, Custodian Trade Facilitation Centre Salamabad, and Trade Facilitation Officer Salamabad.
Officers from Muzaffarabad and Traders across the LoC were also present during the meeting.
Meanwhile, the DDC Baramulla visited Trade Facilitation Centre Salamabad and inspected the construction work being carried out there. The DDC directed the concerned officials to speed up the process of the completion of the construction work.
