KULGAM: Director Rural Development Department (RDD), Kashmir, Tasaduq Jeelani today convened a meeting at Kulgam to review the implementation of various schemes like MGNREGA and IAY.
Assistant Commissioner Development Kulgam, Block Development Officers, Assistant Executive Engineers and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
ACD Kulgam informed the meeting that during 2015 -16, as many as 57496 job cards were issued and 2864 works were completed in the district. He also said that out of the total labour budget of Rs 4752.7 lakhs about Rs 4156.8 lakh was made available and an expenditure of Rs 4073.15 lakhs was made so far in the district.
It was also informed that under IAY, 260 shelters have been completed in the district while 15 Panchayat Ghars have been constructed at an expenditure of Rs 379.6 lakhs. It was given out that for the model village D.H Pora Rs 97.1 lakh have been spent for completion of various developmental works. While in convergence mode, a total of Rs 221.24 lakh was spent for the development of model villages in the district.
Director RDD directed all the officers to work with dedication so that the set targets are achieved well in time. He said schemes like MNREGA and IAY have helped to create sustainable assets in the far flung areas of the district.
