Anantnag jan26:- Belying tall claims of the Government of providing better road connectivity in south Kashmir, the majority of roads across south Kashmir area are in dilapidated condition. Talking to Kashmir Observer, people said that roads are becoming more and more stressful due to potholes. We have to zigzag around potholes and which is dangerous for us all time. They said that the condition of roads is in dilapidated condition even we informed R &B officials many times, but all in vain.
The inhabitants of Turkha Tachloo residents of south Kashmir told Kashmir Observer that one of the important roads Khudwani Sangam Road is in very bad condition. The road to Rahpora is dotted with potholes from last several years.
Due to pathetic condition of the road, students and employees face immense hardships to reach their respective destinations.
Meanwhile residents alleged that the officials of concerned department Started work on said road but unfortunately, works has been stopped due to unknown reasons and concerned officials are not directing the contractors to expedite the construction work on this road.
Most of the inner roads in the area remain badly damaged due to the implementation of the drainage system and the commuters are facing problems.
This problem manifolds during rainy season, thus making roads accident prone. The residents and shopkeepers in the area have been fighting for last three months to get the road repaired but their concerns have been ignored the problem is yet to be addressed, said Abdul Rahman Malla a resident of Turkha Tachloo. We informed the authorities many times about the condition of this road in Turkha Tachloo but our requests met with deaf ears, he added. However Residents have appealed the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to intervene into the issue and make possible redressed of their problem.
