SRINAGAR: AIP has strongly condemned the detention of Er Rasheed on eve of Indias Republic day. Party spokesman Inam-un-Nabi in a statement to CNS said that the black face of Indian democracy has yet again exposed in Kashmir by keeping Er Rasheed under house arrest without any justification. He said, On one hand he had received invitation from government to attend the Republic Day functions, but when he got up in the morning his residence was strictly cordoned by heavy contingents of police and CRPF. He was not allowed to visit SKIMS where he had to arrange an ambulance to send dead body of a person namely Habibullah Khan to Langate, who had expired due to illness last night. The act is shameful and condemnable and blot on a police run state run administration and Indian democracy. Inam-un-Nabi further said that the hoteliers in Lal-Chowk and adjoining areas were threatened by the police of dire consequences, if they allowed Er Rasheed to hold a proposed press conference over the incident.
