Recent 10th and 12th class results of Kashmir division once again proved empowerment of women. The girl students are taking lead in each and every field of education and technology. Today girls are challenging boys and are proceeding side by side touching shoulders with the boys. But for their education and development, state as well as central governments are failing inn giving quality education to girls. More and more concentration is given to the education and development of boys by depriving girls of education.More steps are needed to be taken by state as well as central government t in collaboration with non governmental organizations to attain gender equality status. More and more number of educational schemes for girls should be introduced by uplifting girls education. There are various schemes and programmes launched by central government as well as state governmentst for uplifting girls education but more is to be done.
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao is the remarkable step taken by central governmentt in uplifting girls development and education and this scheme has shown its worth mentioning. So government should pay equal attention towards girls education as girls are the best carriers of transmitting education from generation to generation.
It Is the girl who later becomes a wife, a mother, etc and for nourishment and care of her child, she has to be literate one as children spend most of their time with their mothers as compared to fathers. So when a mother will be literate , she can easily inculcate and pass on good habits to her child. So proper nourishment and well balanced mental development of children greatly depends on the education of a mother. She can, for instance. easily judge the psychological problems and difficulties of her child and accordingly can be the best care giver and solver of the childs problems and it will lead the well balanced relationship between the mother and her child and child can easily share each and everything with the mother.
In comparison to this if we look on illiterate mothers, no doubt they are also paying due attention towards their children but the problem is here that mothers can’t understand the psychology of their children to much extent and also can’t pay any due attention towards their studies because of the mothers being illiterates. And hence children also will not share each and everything with their mothers resulting in lot of tensions among children and hence their education will be affected. So literate mothers are the guiding forces as well as protective forces as they guide their children on each and every step of life and they are also the transmitters of education from generation to generation as children mostly remain with their mothers. But here one thing needed to be mentioned that illiterate mothers too are the best careers and guides for their children in each and every field except education of their children. Illiterate mothers can’t be helpful in education of their children but know each and everything and hence impart it to their children which includes moral education, teaching of respect for elders, etc In today’s modern era of education for girls, science and technology have the most important role as in this modern era science has provided lot of comfort to girls as girls are mostly engaged with home based working consuming their less time, so that they can get education also.
While as girls of ancient times were not able to get education because of so many reasons like walking miles to fetch drinking water, going to to jungles for firewood, lack of better transport facilities, it has been well said by an intellectual one, that education of a boy is an education of only one person while as education of a girl is an education of a family-a society. So it is the duty of parents, society as well as government to pay due attention towards the education of girls.
