SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Saturday said the chances of Islamic State expanding its operations to Kashmir were “almost zero” and dismissed the terror outfit’s reported claims in this regard.
Geelani was apparently reacting to the news report that a section of Indian and local media carried on Friday in which it was claimed that IS will reclaim Kashmir soon.
“The chances of the Islamic State about reaching Kashmir are almost zero,” Geelani said in a statement.
Reacting to the reported statement by the Islamic State on Kashmir, Geelani said the only thing it will do is “give the Government of India a chance to globally defame the movement of Kashmiris”.
Questioning the claims of Islamic State, Geelani said if the group had any sincerity, they would have “liberated the Al Aqsa mosque in West Asia”. “They would have gone to help the Palestinian brothers who are being tortured and brutalised for the past 60 years,” he added. Geelani said instead of solving any issues faced by the Muslims, the advent of Islamic State has plunged the Muslim world into a civil war.
Geelani said that the Kashmir issue is a long pending dispute since last 7 decades and India is forcibly occupying this region. ISIS is a new phenomenon and for the past three years the entire Muslim World has got engaged in the fight within.
He said the followers of one Allah and one Prophet are mercilessly killing each other.
India is trying hard to link the freedom struggle of Kashmir with terrorism, the octogenarian leader said. The Kashmir statement by Daesh, at this moment, is highly meaningful and there appears a more dangerous strategy behind the curtain.
The policymakers of New Delhi have already started to play the Daesh card against the Muslim youths in India and now they want to extend this to Kashmir to serve them as a cover to commit atrocities against the innocent Kashmiris, he said.
Geelani said that Pakistan lately has exhibited some weaknesses and leniency with regard to the Kashmir dispute. We point out such mistakes but it never mean that Pakistan is against the freedom of Kashmir, he said.
Geelani said that the Pakistan has immensely suffered for supporting the Kashmiri cause for which it got parted into two. It is only the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Army of this nation who are openly and fearlessly supporting the freedom of Kashmiri people so there is no truth in this notion that the Pakistan is using the Kashmiris.
While commenting over the recent statement of Israeli prime minister in which he had said that I will prefer ISIS over Iran, the Kashmiri leader said that it says all about the ISISI. It sheds enough light on the hidden motives, objectives and techniques of this organization, he said. Daesh does not consider the struggle of Palestinian people as Jihad.
Geelani said when Israel was spilling the blood of innocent children of Gaza, the fighters of ISIS (who were present at the border of Palestine and Israel) doesnt fire a single bullet towards the Israel. They never said a word over the Israeli bombings in Gaza, he said.
Geelani said that there are serious questions over the existence and actions of Daesh or ISIS which have no reasonable answers.
The basic goal of Islam is to provide peace and stability to the world, he said. The level of protection which Islam provides is impossible to find anywhere else.
ISIS having failed to cash on the minor differences between Shais and Sunnis, however, it has very well succeeded in the implementation of the the conspiracies of America, Israeli and other imperialistic powers which they have hatched against the Muslim World, Geelani added.
