JAMMU: The secretary tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah while extensively touring the Paramandal and Uttarbani areas of Jammu said that the above mentioned spots have immense potential to be promoted as pilgrim and heritage tourism spots which can attract huge tourist footfall particularly interested in heritage and pilgrim tourism.
The secretary said that the historical temple and other allied buildings which are dated back to the era of Awantivarman give a look of Kaashi and can be promoted as the replica of little Kaashi, Farooq Ahmad shah said that the master plan will be drafted and a complete DPR will be made to turn this area into major tourist attraction which will create a chain of economic and social activity in the said area thus helping the people of this area in all respects.
He said that one meditation centre alongwith all the facilitation and wayside facilities will be added to make it national standard pilgrim centre.
The secretary also mentioned that the FCI building leh has also been commissioned and inaugurated to boost the Skill development in ladakh region.
The secretary while giving details of the progress of works to make Jammu as an independent tourist destination said that one back 9 golf course in Sidhrah was thrown open on fast track basis, river front park in Jammu Tawi was also thrown open for public, the tourist complex Akhnoor is near completion, food craft institute will be completed in a record two months time frame which will be state of art building in Jagti area of Jammu and will give a boost to skill development in food craft technology and hospitality sector.
He said that the bait ul Zaaireen in Shadrah Shariefis near completion, Yatri Nivas in Baderwah have been added and inaugurated already, Mantalai will be the international attraction as the DPR is already submitted to GOI for International yoga centre which will be attracting yoga lovers from all over the country and across the globe.
The secretary informed that in the forthcoming promotional marts and festivals Jammu Kashmir ad Ladakh will be promoted aggressively and Jammu as an independent destination will be promoted for its immense unexplored tourism potential in adventure, heritage, Yoga, Pilgrim, culture and golf tourism which will position and establish Jammu as a complete and independent tourist destination.
He said that some important projects in Kashmir and Ladakh have also been put on fast track and shall be completed within the stipulated time period.
The secretary was accompanied by Director Tourism Jammu, DGM JKTDC, Exen tourism/JKTDC, CEO Surinsar Maansar development authority and other officials. (KNS)
