Srinagar: The media policy of the premier financial institution of the State, Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd. is treading a wrong line these days by selectively choosing various publications for the informational material in the form of advertisements.
Many senior officials of the bank opine that the higher-ups including the chairman have no say in the affairs as the media communication department is being run by those who are hand-in-glove with the blue-eyed publications.
The chairman is just a designation in the bank, a senior executive wishing not to be named said. A lot of things are happening without his knowledge as the ones who pull the strings dont necessarily wish to inform the chair of whatever is happening in various departments of the bank.
Pertinently, many publications which are relatively new, have been receiving advertisements at regular intervals at the expense of those which have rendered great services to the objective journalism in the State.
An illegal arrangement of some bank officials with these publications cannot be ruled out, the official said.
