SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti today condemned the terror attack on a Pakistani university which left 25 people dead, saying it was a grim reminder of how “terrorists are trying to destabilise the region by shedding the blood of innocents”.
“It is a cowardly act of brutality that has claimed lives of the innocents. My heart goes out to everyone who lost their loved ones in today’s cowardly terror attack in Bacha Khan University, Charsadda. I share their pain and offer my deepest condolences,” Ms Mehbooba Mufti said in a statement in Srinagar.
She said those who attacked innocent students and citizens have no religion and the perpetrators are enemies of the mankind.
“We stand united with the people and the Government of Pakistan in their resolve to fight the menace of terrorism and condemn use of violence under any circumstance,” she said, adding the atrocity of such proportion should outrage the feelings of every human being.
Ms Mehbooba Mufti said today’s incident, the attack on a school in Peshawar, Pakistan in December 2014 and the recent strike on an Airbase in Pathankot area of Punjab in India were grim reminders of how the terrorists were trying to destabilise the region by shedding the blood of innocents.
