SRINAGAR: The State Immunization officer, Dr Yangthan Dolma, has urged people not to respond to any rumour suggesting that some deaths have taken place after they were administered with pulse polio vaccine.
She said that she confirmed from all the 10 Chief Medical Officers of Kashmir that nothing untoward was reported from anywhere.
“We are preparing a report on this, Dr Dolma said. All the ten CMOs have confirmed to me that nothing untoward has happened anywhere after administering the vaccine to the children.”
Rumours gripped the entire Kashmir that some deaths had taken place and people took their children to the nearest health centres for follow up after they were given the polio vaccine.
