SRINAGAR: Stressing that the resolution of Kashmir issue was a necessity for lasting peace in South Asia, Hurriyat (M) Friday urged the leadership of India and Pakistan to take bold and concrete steps for resolving the vexed issue. These views were expressed by Hurriyat (M) leaders Muhammad Musadiq Adil, Abdul Majeed Wani, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Jaffar Kashmiri and others during the conglomerates people-to-people contact programme while addressing worker meetings at Bohripora, Sopore and Magam areas of north Kashmir.
Hurriyat (M) leaders said at a time when an atmosphere was being prepared wherein New Delhi and Islamabad could continue dialogue to address all issues including the vexed Kashmir issue, the Hurriyat (M) leaders called upon its workers and people to show steadfastness and commitment with the movement so that the cause of the people is presented effectively before the international community and the leadership of India and Pakistan.
Later the delegation visited Chahal, Bimyar residence of the deceased Atta Muhammad, the gravedigger who buried hundreds of unidentified dead bodies of the persons which are suspected to be the bodies of those who disappeared in forces custody during the last two decades.
The leaders expressed condolence and sympathy with Ata Muhammads bereaved family and prayed for the peace of his soul.
Carrying on with Hurriyat (M)s people-to-people contact programme in South Kashmir, senior Hurriyat (M) leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressed several worker meetings in Kokernag area and informed them about the efforts the conglomerate was putting in both at the diplomatic and political level for the resolution of Kashmir issue.
Earlier, Waza was stopped by the police from visiting south Kashmirs Pulwama district when he was heading to express solidarity with the people demanding raising a Martyrs Memorial for past several weeks.
Meanwhile, senior Hurriyat (M) leader Engineer Hilal Ahmad War visited Peer Bagh Srinagar residence of the youth Owais Bashir Malik, who was murdered in suspicious circumstances, and expressed sympathy with his bereaved family.
Speaking on the occasion, War said the increased frequency of crime in Kashmir and challenges faced at the social level was a cause of concern for the entire nation.
Expressing hope that the inquiry commission ordered by the State administration in this case would not prove only an eye wash, like the commissions of the past, but would honestly find out the facts about the suspicious murder of the Peer Bagh youth so that the persons involved in this ghastly crime are identified and punished.
