SRINAGAR: Bringing laurels to his department, the work of Syed Shahriyar, a student of Media Education Research Centre (MERC), was published in the reputed news organizations like TIME magazine, The Guardian, The Daily Mail, The Sun and others.
Syed Shahriyar, 23, who is currently pursuing masters degree from Kashmir Universitys MERC Department, also holds a one-year PG Diploma in Still Photography from Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi.
In the aftermath of Shiekh Nimrs execution by Saudi Arabia government, Shia Muslims in Kashmir expressed their anger and protested against the Saudi monarchy. These protests were covered by Shahriyar and his photographs were published by various prominent news organizations worldwide, including TIME Magazine and The Guardian.
Coordinator of MERC, Farooq Masudi appreciated his work and wished him more success for the future.
Shahriyar is a contributor for The Corbis a Seattle based photographic media house. He has been also working in Kashmir for last four years covering various subjects through his lens.
