SRINAGAR: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Monday castigated government for debarring rural health care doctors from going for higher studies.
Terming the recent circular issued by HME department as irrational and illogical, spokesman DAK quoting its president Dr GM Mir said that in fast moving medical field wherein doctors need to update their skills and knowledge on a regular basis to keep themselves abreast with the latest in the field of medicine, it is shocking and strange and sounds absurd that our own government has come with such a bizarre circular.
We need to train more and more doctors in various specialties so that a fully skilled manpower is at the disposal of health services. How can we improve our delivery system if our planners have such a tunnel vision? DAK may approach the Honble court if the said circular is not done away with, spokesman said.
Pertinently, a circular has been issued by government wherein doctors working in health care have been barred from going for higher studies. (CNS)
