SRINAGAR: The northern railways in JK has decided to put in service all the trains on Sunday keeping in view the public movement from different parts of valley to attend the Rasm-e-Chaharum ceremony of late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, who passed away on Thursday at AIIMS in New Delhi.
As per the routine, northern railways keep six services of trains suspended on Banihal- Baramulla railway track on Sunday.
However, the officials said all the trains will ply from Banihal to Baramulla.
All the trains will run as per their schedule on Sunday keeping in view the huge flow of people from all the areas, Chief Controller northern Railways, Vikramjeet said.
The decision has been taken after the tourism department urged the northern railways to increase the frequency of the trains keeping in view the movement of people from all parts of valley to reach Bijbehara to pay homage to the departed soul.
A large number of people from all parts of valley are expected to reach Bijbehara to pay homage to the departed soul.
In view of this you are requested to kindly increase the frequency of trains on 10th January so that public willing to pay visit the homage to the departed soul are able to attend the Chah-e-rum and visit the residence of the late CM, reads the letter shot by Director tourism to Chief Area Manger (CAM) northern railways.
