SRINAGAR: Chilly weather coupled with poor infrastructure in majority of the exam centres gave a tough time to the aspirants who appeared for graduate level exams held by Jammu Kashmir Service Selection Recruitment Board on Friday.
The aspirants have alleged the authorities of downplaying the need of proper heating facility in the exam centres.
We shivered throughout the exam duration with no heating facility arranged by the authorities, a group of aspirants said.
Taking a dig at the sloppy attitude of JKSSRB, the students questioned as to how the authorities are so careless and omit this need in such icy-cold weather.
The 400 rupees which they charged seems unjustifiable with such poor arrangements, aggrieved students said.
Even the shattered window panes had been left unplugged, a candidate appearing for the exam at Girls High School Sonwar said while adding that the free exchange of chilly gusts left the aspirants numb and lifeless.
Meanwhile, the candidates have also demanded the authorities to refund the fees for failing to provide them with proper facilities.
An aspirant who appeared for the exams at Girls High School Kothi Bagh said that they should refund of the charges levied for facilities supposed to be made available inside the exam halls.
The first and foremost responsibility on part of the authorities was to make heating facilities available but blatantly they didnt, an aspirant Ataullah Mir who appeared for the exam at NIT Srinagar said while adding they should refund the part of fees charged.
