JAMMU: Terming AASRA a revolutionary step towards social security of women, the Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs, Ch Zulfkar Ali Friday said that launching of such pioneering welfare schemes will provide the much needed succor to women belonging to low income families.
This was stated by the Minister during an awareness camp organized by the Social Welfare Department on AASRA Scheme at Rajouri .
Enumerating the details of the AASRA scheme, Minister said that AASRA is a first step towards upliftment of economically weaker sections of society and exhorted upon the people to come forward and avail the benefits of the scheme.
He said that families having annual income less than Rs 75000 can register themselves under AASRA and if the earning hand of any registered family dies , the next kin of the deceased will get the compensation of Rs 2 lakh besides monthly assistance and an amount of Rs 1 lakh in case of disability due to injury.
Emphasizing on synergy in the service delivery system, Zulfkar asked the concerned departments to undertake field visit , organize awareness camps and put up hoardings, displaying schemes of the government to ensure proper implementation of the scheme.
