SRINAGAR: Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), is being celebrated with religious fervour across Kashmir Valley. The largest congregation is expected to be held at Hazratbal shrine.The devotees would have a glimpse of the holy relic after every prayer.
Besides Hazratbal, large congregational prayers are expected to be held at Asarisharif Kalashpora, Jenab Sahib Soura, Lal Bazar, Pinjura Shopian, Khiram Sirhama Anantnag (Islamabad), Seer Hamdan, Kaba Marg Qaimoh, Ahmshrief Bandipora and Hazrat Janbaz Wali Baramulla.
On the occasion, a festive look prevailed in the city for the past several days as various Masjids and shrines in the city and elsewhere, besides various commercial malls in the civil lines areas were illuminated.
Meanwhile, extending greeting on the birth anniversary of the biggest benefactor and savior of the humanity, the Last Messenger of the Almighty Allah, Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the birth of the Prophet brought a revolution in human thinking, faith, civilization and culture which not only changed the lives of the people but altered the geography of the world.
In his message to the Muslims of the world in general and those living in Jammu Kashmir in particular on Eid Milad-un-Nabi, he said Muslims instead of doing lip service in expressing their love and devotion for The Last Messenger of Allah needed to follow his teachings in letter and spirit and implement them in all sphere of their lives.
Paying glowing tributes to Prophet Muhammad (SAW), he said the issues, the religion of Islam and Muslims were facing today and the conspiracies that were being hatched by imperial and Zionist powers against Islam, the Prophet Muhammad and the Muslims can only be countered by following the teachings of Islam, Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the holy book of Quran in letter and spirit.
Stressing that the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) would be relevant till the Day of Judgement for the entire humanity, the Mirwaiz said that the importance of these teachings and the responsibility of Muslims has all the more increased in the 21st century, which is considered as the century of science and technology.
He has prayed to the Almighty Allah to make all of us better Muslims and love our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) with more passion and dedication.
