SRINAGAR: Militants on the Thursday night managed to give army a slip during a brief encounter at Reshi Muqam village in Kandi area of north Kashmirs Kupwara district.
Militants, according to a police handout, engaged armys 47 RR at Reshi Muqam village of Kandi in the frontier district at around 9:35 pm last night. The fire was retaliated triggering off a brief gunfight, the handout said.
After a brief gunfight, the group of militants managed to escape while taking advantage of darkness, the official said.
Meanwhile, armys 47 RR along with additional reinforcement have launched massive searches in the adjoining villages and the nearby forest area to nab the militants.
However, when reports last came, the search-and-cordon was going on.
