Pulwama, Dec 8, CNS: With the concerned government agency failing in the timely repairs of dilapidated Rohmu-Pulwama main road in South Kashmirs Rajpora Constituency, the Sumo drivers pooled money getting some truckloads dumped to get rid of the dusty-bumpy connectivity.
The Sumo drivers told CNS that they were forced to pool resources to themselves undertake the work after failing to get response from the government. It is the constituency of Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu whom we havent seen from the day when Assembly election results emerged, the drivers said.
The 8 kilometer Rohmu-Pulwama road is in shambles. From past 8 years, this busy road awaits black topping. Despite repeated pleas to the concerned agency no heed was given as a result the drivers as well as locals have been continuously suffering, said a driver adding that the incumbent legislator disappointed them.
When contacted Executive Engineer R&B Ishtiyaq Ahmed told CNS that the road will be macadamized in coming days. There was no need for people to pool money. The road will be macadamized on priority basis, he said. (CNS) (Photograph attached)
