JAMMU: Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar Friday said that Jammu and Kashmir would declare 2016 as the year of expression.
To make the young children aware about the importance of having good expression qualities, the next year will be declared as year of expression, the Minister told students and teaching fraternity at a workshop organized by the British Council and Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) on art education.
It is a new teaching technique which uses drama and performing art in the classroom and out of class activities to make these interesting and more expressive for the students.
Highlighting the importance of being articulate and having excellent communicative skills, the Minister said the art education techniques are best means to groom the children and help them grow as good speakers and communicators.
The British Council, in consultation with Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), is working in the state for the last three years and have prepared three master trainers in J&K to promote this technique.
The Minister said that these master trainers and the schools where the technique is being used would act as a resource centers for training other teachers. He assured full support to the British Council in its ventures in the state.
