Poonch: Army on Thursday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid by killing three militants along Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation was launched in the evening hours when the infiltration bid was detected by surveillance devices and alert soldiers manning the fence foiled their attempt. The area has been cordoned off immediately, armys Udhampur based defence spokesman SD Goswami in a statement issued to GNS said.
As the group of infiltrators was challenged by the soldiers at Sabzian sector near Jamia Gali resulted into an encounter.
Three militants have been killed in during the encounter, he said, adding that the search operation is still going on in the area, he added. (GNS)
