NEW DELHI: Following a brief meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his counterpart Narendra Modi at the COP 21 summit in Paris, sources say Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj may visit Pakistan next week for a meeting on Afghanistan.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and premier Nawaz Sharif will jointly inaugurate the regional conference on Afghanistan on December 9 in Islamabad.
India has been invited to the conference, but it has not been decided who would represent the nation, sources added.
The details of the private conversation between the two heads of states are still unknown; however, the prime minister commented doors of dialogue should always be open.
Talks were held between the arch-rivals in July in Russia but the initiative of bilateral dialogue stalled following Indias refusal to address issues other than terrorism.
