Kulgam: Police Tuesday claimed that it apprehended a Hizb militant from South Kashmirs Kulgam district.
Additional SP Kulgam Shabir Nawab told local news agency CNS that Nawaz Najar son Abdul Hamid Najar, a resident of Harmeen Shopian had joined Hizb outfit some six months ago. After receiving inputs, police raided a house at Hardah Hanjan Yaripora village and got the militant arrested, he said adding that the arrested militant was involved in a rifle snatching incident in Kulgam district.
Another police official said that three hand grenades, 18 rounds of AK-47 rifle and a copy of Holy Quran was recovered from the possession of the militant.
