Srinagar: A soldier died Saturday after he slipped and rolled down into a deep gorge in Karnah sector of north Kashmirs Kupwara district.
A police official told GNS that the sepoy Juginder Singh of 26 Rajput who was part of patrolling party today morning slipped and fell down into a gorge near Eagle Post along Line of Control (LoC).
In the incident, the sepoy sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to nearby hospital in unconscious state.
However, doctors present there declared him brought dead.
Pertinently, this was the third incident when a soldier died due to fall in north Kashmir.
On June 12, Rifleman Ravinder Singh of 15 RR slipped to his death near LoC in Gurez sector.
On August 09, an Army Captain Prem Kumar died when he slipped and fell into a gorge near the LoC in Gurez sector. (GNS)
