Budgam: Most of the PMGSY projects in Central Kashmirs Budgam district are incomplete since long, forcing the people of far flung areas to face hardships despite investment of several crores of rupees.
Angered over incomplete road and a bridge under PMGSY in Udar hamlet, barely 9 kilometres away from the district headquarters resented locals who staged a protest in Press Enclave Srinagar alleging that the project of 2 kilometer road and a construction and a bridge was deliberately left behind for ulterior motives.
The protesters questioned PMGSY authorities for leaving one and a half kilometer road stretch incomplete.
“The huge investment on the road projects goes waste and meaningless” the protesters told CNS adding that they especially the female folk with labour pain face hardships while shifting them to the hospital.
The villagers informed that the concerned department seems to be in deep slumber and has till date failed to solve the problems of the locals.
As per the record of PMGSY the road and bridge in Uddar hamlet had to be started in 2008 and to be completed in 2009 but after the passing of 7years it is abandoned.
The locals appealed authorities to look into the matter.
