The tragic events of Paris have again brought about a new wave of accusations about Islam and Muslims being behind terrorism and ISIS. But that is not true. Out of the number of Muslims in the world there is only a tiny minority that is subscribing to violence and terrorism and that also with the active support of US, Britain and Saudi Arab. This fact has been repeated again and again from Osama bin Laden to now so-called ISIS, still Western people and media refuse to accept this. One reason could be that we the Muslims who reject terrorism and violence- are not outspoken enough.
Many a time we ourselves and our media repeat those allegations without thinking. That is why this new and good idea has been promoted through SMS, namely when talking about the self-installed terrorist kalifate in Iraq and Syria not to use the name the West have or they have given themselves of Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (ISIS) but to name them the way we understand them and the idea they are representing: Non-Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (NISIS).
This campaign should be promoted and shared by moderate people all over the world to show our rejection, denial and refusal to the extremist methodology of those hiding behind religion and show our solidarity with all victims of such heinous crime anywhere throughout the globe, be it Paris, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Myanmar or Palestine.
Even if this could make a small difference in the daily media language, it should be done to save the universe from ultimate doom. So therefore, this is an appeal to our media and those who talk to the media please take the initiative and call them what they really are: NISIS.
