Prof Shohab’s book ‘Qudrut-ullah-Shahab Shaksiyat Aur Funn’ unveiled

JAMMU: Minister for Horticulture, Hajj and Auqaf Mr. Abdul Rehman Veeri today released a book titled “Qudrut-ullah-Shahab Shaksiyat Aur Funn” written by Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, HOD Urdu Department, University of Jammu at a function organized in university auditorium here today

Advisor to Chief Minister, Prof Amitabh Mattoo, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu, Prof R D Sharma, Registrar, HODS, senior Faculty members, students of the University besides civil society members were present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister congratulated Prof Shohab for bringing out a valuable book on Qudrut-ullah-Shahab. He said he has gone through the book and has found that anybody who wants to get educated about the culture of Jammu before partition should go through this book.

The Minister said that Prof Shohab in a very impressive manner has brought into focus some of the incidents of the life of Qudrut-ullah-Shahab. He said the book of Prof Shohab will encourage the budding writers to do further research on Qudrut-ullah-Shahab who is a noted writer and fist ICS officer of J&K who migrated to Pakistan after partition where he held key positions.

 Veeri said that Urdu is official language of the State and it will be given its due by the present government.

The Minister said that education is the launching pad for better destiny of a society. He said the Mufti Sayeed led government has prioritized the education sector in the State for transformation. He said several reformative initiatives are being taken to modernize the education system in the State. He said the academicians, scholars and writers have to play their role for building the future of our youth.

Prof Amitabh Mattoo in his speech while lauding the efforts of Prof Shohab Inayat Malik for the promotion of Urdu language and literature not only in J&K but also across the sub–continent said that Prof Shohab has written number of books but the new one is important in the sense that it is the first book written on Qudrut-ullah-Shahab in India. He said that Prof Shohab is a dynamic literary personality and hoped that he will continue his services for literature in future also.

The Advisor said that the government has taken some revolutionary measures to revamp the educational sector in the State.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof R D Sharma in his address spoke in length about the contribution of Prof Shohab in development of Jammu University and Kishtwar Campus and congratulated him for his new book.
