NEW DELHI:The seasoned congressman Mani Shankar Aiyar Tuesday asked for the removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to solve the Kashmir dispute.
Aiyar reportedly told a Pakistani anchor, Hamein le aaiye, inhein hataiye (Bring in the Congress, remove him), when asked about how Congress suggests the bitter India-Pakistan imbroglio over Kashmir be resolved.
Interestingly, Aiyars Modi remarks came a day after he called for the anti-Islam phobia carried out in the western countries to be stopped immediately in wake of Paris attacks.
Aiyar is a former Indian diplomat turned politician, who was a part of first (20042009) Cabinet of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. He served as the Union Cabinet Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas from May 2004 through January 2006 and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports till 2009.
