ANANTNAG: In response to the complaints of the parents association regarding monopolizing of school books by few book stockiest and arbitrary annual fee hike by the private schools, ADC Anantnag G. H. Sheikh today asked Chief Education Officer, Anantnag to issue show cause notices against those private schools which have arbitrarily enhanced the annual fee on their own. In case they fail to respond, these schools shall be liable to deregistration he said.
Already there is a Fee Restructuring Committee of the Government, which normally recommends the enhancement, if any, in the school fee. In this regard, there are specific guidelines from the J&K High Court also that no annual fee enhancements, whatsoever, shall be made by the private schools without the recommendations of the said committee.
Regarding the monopolization of the distribution of school books by few book stockiest, ADC directed CEO, Anantnag to ensure that no further sale of books for next two days is made so that the issue highlighted by the parents association are addressed. Besides, CEO was also directed to ensure that the book stockiest issues necessary vouchers for the sale of the books.
