Srinagar: Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a 13 year old boy in Mansoor Colony area of Bemina Srinagar.
Haris Ashraf Matta, a 7h class student was found hanging at his home on 12 November. The mysterious death of the student had sparked protest while family members claimed that Haris has been murdered while Police also do not rule out murder and took up investigation to ascertain cause of death.
Police sources told CNS that a neighbor of the victims family had been arrested by police. A police official while identifying the arrestee as Farooq Ahmed Mandoo said that he is being questioned and it will be too early to jump to any conclusion.
The official added that a police team along with the parents of the slain boy visited Standard Muslim School, Qamarwari and questioned students and teachers there. We have got some important leads and the investigation is going in the right direction, he said. (CNS)
