In a span of just 24 hours, the killing spree orchestrated by ISIL spread from Beirut to Paris. These serial attacks choked humanity and strew the atmosphere with the innocent blood. With this the equivocal voices came to fore, yellow journalism steered its campaign, nomenclature changes from jihadist to terrorist and it didnt stop here. The world mourns Paris but forgot victims of Beirut, Baghdad and 7 beheaded Hazaras of Afghanistan. Although none can condone Paris attacks, the way world reacted is ironical.
Equivocal voices .
After Paris carnage , the condolence and solidarity pour in from the globe. These popular voices seem caught in a bind before 24 hrs of French incident, when a bomb blast claimed 43 innocent lives in Beirut .The proponents of equality and human values remained tight lipped , turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to the Beirut carnage. These attacks are not new on planet earth , but the way majority of individual ,international organisations and national governments around the globe reacted over French incident and ignored others clearly defines the clique having circumscribed ideology.
Yellow journalism.
In contemporary world , the media is considered as the mirror of society. It has many facetes viz print , electronic and social etc .Every facet of this, from the banks of Mississippi and Rhone to the mountains of Himalayas clearly highlighted French carnage, build opinion over it and sought solidarity support from the people towards the Paris victims. Here the question arises why didn’t they play same role in respect to Beirut? The social media giant moves one step forward by filtering out a DP flag for France. Again question arises why not for Lebanon, Palestine, Baghdad , Syria, Afghan and Peshawar where dozens of innocent children were massacred by the same bigots.
Were they not human? You (Facebook and others) claimed to be governed by righteousness and equity, but greed and self aggrandizement poisoned your virtues.
Changing of nomenclature .
Who knows better than taxononomists , how many parameters they take into consideration while forwading their claim to change in nomenclature of any genus or species. But here the parameter is grounded and in no time it can be changed too. If any serve their interest(west) they are rebels, if not they are terrorists. They were labelled as jihadist and rebels, when they used to kill innocents in Baghdad, Yemen, Syria, Kabul etc. Abruptly it changes to terrorist , the day they start killing innocent people on West. Bashar al Ja’fari, the Syrian ambassador to UN held same opinion when he said ,now they call them terrorist because today they are killing French people and when they used to butcher Syrian people, they were considered jihadists. Irony is, today they (west) are reprimanding, rebuking and denouncing the perpetrators of Paris attacks but they themselves funded and facilitated their invasion in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and the list goes on.
Wake up call
Paris attacks are the wake up call for the people and national governments over the globe to raise above their geographical, ethnic and religious affiliations in order to wipe out this uncontrolled virus from planet earth. Time has come to plan a joint, effective and clearcut strategy to nip hate mongers plan in bud.
