Srinagar: Terming the statement of Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed that Indian Muslims must unite against evil forces and defeat terrorism, as absurd and awkward the Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Monday said Mufti is a person who has spent his life supporting barbarism and atrocities of Indian forces in Kashmir.
How can a person, who is actively involved in worst kind of state terrorism in Kashmir and suppressing the peaceful and genuine voices of its people, lecture on terrorism, Geelani said in a statement.
He said Mufti Sayeed should introspect as to which forces he is supporting and what are his deeds in Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiri nation, since last many decades, is facing worst kind of state terrorism by the hands of India and people like Mufti Sayeed are playing a lead role in the sufferings and miseries of its people, he said.
Terming the Mufti Sayeeds lecture on Muslim Unity in Chennai as a cover-up of his crimes and anti-Muslim character, the Hurriyat (G) Chairman said: The terrorist attacks in France are highly condemnable and the perpetrators are the worst enemies of Islam but the Islamic lectures from the mouth of a person (like Mufti) who has launched a major crusade against Islam and Islamic culture in Jammu and Kashmir state is paradoxical.
Geelani also termed it ridiculous the Muftis remarks that Indian Muslims proved the Two Nation theory wrong saying, Everybody in India is realizing today that remaining with India was not a right decision. Even the secular and moderate Hindus too are not feeling safe in this country.
Mufti talked about peace and humanity some 1500 kms away from the place he is ruling with the help of 8.5 lakh foreign forces and is using lethal weapons against the people, Geelani added.
