Srinagar: Scholars and PhD holders Thursday urged upon the Public Service Commission to re-advertise the post for Assistant Professors which according to the protesting scholars PSC had advertised in May 2014.
The scholars and PhD holders who staged a protest in Press Enclave Srinagar said that PSC had come up with an advertisement notice in May 2014 and it was supposed to fill up the 1200 posts of Assistant Professors. Soon after applying for the said posts, the M Phil students approached the court with a plea that students with M Phil degrees should also be made eligible for the posts, the plea rejected by the Court later on.
The students appealed that after the rejection of the plea from M.Phil students, the PSC should re-advertise the said post so that PhD scholars could apply for the same.
