Passport Office to organize 2-day ‘mela’


SRINAGAR: ‘Passport Melas’ will be organized by the Passport Office Srinagar on November 14 and 15 at Regional Passport Office here for the applicants of Kashmir Region.
A statement of Passport Office to KNS said that appointments for 14th and 15th November 2015 will be released from November 10 at 11AM.
“Applicants need to submit the Passport Application Form online for ‘Fresh/Re-issue of passport under normal category and book prior appointment before visiting Passport Seva Kendra Srinagar. Applicants are requested to log on to the passport India website to fill and submit the application form online, make payment of passport fee online through debit/Credit card or internet banking of state bank of India(as mentioned on the website),” it said.
It said appointments for the Passport Melas will be allotted by the system as per availability for 14th and 15th November. Applicants are required to visit the Passport office in person for application processing, Biometrics (finger prints etc), Capturing of photographs. On the appointment date/time, the applicants along with printout of Appointment Letter and original documents (photocopies thereof) must visit the Passport Seva Kendra at Srinagar for processing their Passport applications.

The statement said Passport Adalat will also be held on these days to address the issues of files which are pending over three months. However, the closed files would not be re-opened. (KNS)
