Jammu: Scores of Civil Secretariat employees Monday staged a protest against Director Estates for failing to restore accommodation quota in their favour.
As the Civil Secretariat office opened up in Jammu, scores of employees under the banner of Secretariat Employees Association (SEA) assembled in the premises of Civil Secretariat. The protest was led by president SEA Ghulam Rasool Mir.
The protesters alleged that there is a nexus between Estates Department and Hoteliers according to which the department is earning hefty amount of money from hoteliers as the government quarters for Civil Secretariat employees are allotted to blue eyed persons. We demand immediate removal of the incumbent Director Estates and appeal government to initiate enquiry on all the orders issued by Director Estates during his tenure. All the orders with regard to allotment of government accommodation should be kept in abeyance, the protesters told CNS adding that they have been given accommodation that lacks sanitation and other facilities.
