Srinagar: Aggrieved account holders of Jammu and Kashmir bank at Brein Nishat in the outskirts of Srinagar city Wednesday staged a protest against the Branch and Advance Managers for not getting the desired services.
The protesters alleged that majority of account holders especially the trades community from Brein Bazar have been switching over to State Bank of India as according to them the Branch Manager and Advance Manager of Jammu Kashmir Bank at Breing Nishat are insolent and their behaviour towards the customers is always rude.
The previous Branch Manager was so people-friendly but at present the Branch is in mess, the protestors told local news agency CNS. The officers in the Branch are acting like autocrats and frequently misbehave with the account holders.
Demanding immediate transfer of these officers, the protestors appealed to Chairman JK Bank to initiate action against the duo for their unruly conduct.
Some protesters said, their loan cases have not been preceded by the branch manager. He is not cooperative and has been harassing us on the one or the other pretext, said a protester.
Meanwhile the account holders of JK Bank Branch Sumbal too protested against the Advance Section Head accusing him of harassment. JK Bank claims that it provides hassle free loan to its account holders but here the situation is different, protestors rued. After completing all the formalities and even clearing loan cases from Zonal branch, the Advance Section Head refuses to oblige and has been using dilly dally tactics to harass us.
I am a customer of this bank branch and got my loan (two lakh rupees) sanctioned from zonal headquarter in 15 days and now four months have passed and the manager is dillydallying to credit the loan money into my account, a protester told CNS adding that more than 50 loan applications were awaiting fund release in the bank branch and the manager has been dillydallying and harassing us on daily basis.
When contacted a top official from Jammu Kashmir Bank said that he will look into the matter. We are here to provide efficient and effective services to our esteemed customers not to harass them. The allegations leveled by customers against the officials will be seriously looked into, he added.
