Srinagar: National Conference Wednesday has asked PDP-BJP govt to make necessary measures for bringing at par State Forest Service (SFS) with Indian Forest Service (IFS) in the state.
Taking a strong note of the alleged suppression of SFS officers by the state machinery, NC leaders Mian Altaf Ahmad and Chowdhary Mohd Ramzan in a joint press statement urged the Mufti led govt to give its due to the SFS officers and subsequently create a parallel service to IFS in the state.
Over the years, a review of the IFS cadre has taken place for at least five times but nothing is being done to allay the concerns of our state officers. It is high time that the government seriously consider their demand and act on it accordingly, reads the press statement.
The height of injustice is such that a particular lobby is working overtime to ensure that no review of the state service takes place. As a result 106 posts have been permanently categorized in favour of IFS. This to say the least has dealt a serious blow to the promising state officers who have been intentionally kept away from coveted positions, the statement adds.
Like for other state administrative services like KAS, it is impressed upon the state government to consider SFS officers at par with IFS officers and allocate 50 percent posts for SFS and the rest for IFS cadre in the state.
