Srinagar: Police on Tuesday arrested a young Kashmiri separatist leader for unfurling and waving black flags in different parts of old Srinagar city apparently to express resentment over the landing of Indian Army on 27 October 1947 in Kashmir Valley.
A police official told a local news agency that Shakil Ahmed Bhat, an activist of Democratic Political Movement along with other party workers waved and unfurled black flags in certain parts of Srinagar city including Habbakadal, Fathekadal and Khankah Mowla. Meanwhile, Democratic Political Movement General Secretary Advocate Muhammad Shafi Reshi while condemning the arrest of Shakil Ahmed Bhat said that such tactics cant refrain people from displaying their resentment against India that according to him has illegally occupied Valley Kashmir. (CNS)
