SRINAGAR: Stating that government forces have unleashed a war against people of Kashmir, Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has said that innocent and unarmed people are being put to torture and tyranny.
Talking to KNS, Geelani said that protests continue for the fifth consecutive day in Anantnag on the murder of Zahid Rasool and police and forces are using teargas shelling and brute forces against the people. As per the fresh information, 41 youth have been arrested in Anantnag district today which include 30 in Anantnag town, 6 in Achabbal and 5 in Dooru. Besides two Tehreek-i-Hurriyat activists, Shabir Ahmad Qureshi and Sajad Ahmad Sofi, who had gone to pay tributes and express condolences to the martyrs there were also arrested and lodged in police station, he said.
Geelani added that three youth, Merajudin Rabani, Aadil Dar and Sajad Ahmad Mir, who were part of group who protested peacefully outside Iqra Masjid today were arrested and put in Sheergadi Police station.
Geelani said that a war has been unleashed against unarmed Kashmiri people which is worse that the tactics of Changez Kahn.
