Srinagar: Kashmir Economic Alliance Wednesday said that the attack by petrol bombs on a truck with its drivers inside reflects events of Gujarat carnage of Muslims that were carried by Hindu mobs in 2002 when Narendra Modi was its chief Minister.
A KEA spokesman said that the death of Zahid Rasool Bhat has once again shaken the confidence of Kashmiri Muslims in Indian administration and judiciary.
Setting on fire the truck on way to Kashmir from Delhi, along with its occupants is barbaric, cruel and uncivilized to say the least. It depicts mindset of primitive barbarianism, and reflects an encore of events of Gujarat carnage of Muslims, the spokesman said.
He said the death of Zahid due to the attack demonstrates the ugly face of Hindu fundamentalism emboldened by the support of the BJP and its allies in the government.
KEA is determined to fight this kind of cruelty with courage and conviction, reminiscent of our religion, with a pledge not to harm innocent and peaceful people of any religion and with any ideology, he said.
The trade body has sought their counter parts to participate in peaceful protests and demand for exemplary punishment to the criminals identified and arrested.
We expect the Jammu trade and commerce to participate in our peaceful protests and demand for exemplary punishment to the criminals identified and arrested. Besides all those persons who were at the back of these criminals and who masterminded this act of barbarism be identified, exposed and punished, he said.
The sooner this is done the better for peace of the State which is otherwise going to explode into a long and ugly confrontation with the rulers.
He said that the trade body expects PDP to take a courageous stand on these issues without care for the power. NC likewise should be honest in its acts of support to and for Muslims of the state without prejudice and lust for power, he said.
People of Kashmir are wise and experienced enough to see through all the actions coming from mainstream political parties on Zahid’s killing and similar acts happening against Muslims in India, he said.
He said that the KEA is outraged over the manner Chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik was arrested in Annatnag and has sought an apology from Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
The RSS led PDP-BJP government shows its low and pathetic ways of governance using brute might on frail and weak. The worst is that this force is used on leaders who are loved and respected by masses and are the true representatives of the people, he said, adding, Mufti and his administration should apologize for this inhuman and cruel act and ensure that such a crime is not repeated in future.
