Met forecasts rain on Oct 24, 25; Weather likely to remain dry from Oct 20
Srinagar: Kashmir Valley Monday received fresh snowfall over hills and rainfall in plains throughout the day. The Met officials said the weather may likely remain dry from tomorrow, but may receive rain on October 24 and 25.
The rainfall started in the night of October 19 continued through out the day, while few inches snow fell in higher reaches of Kupwara and Pir Panjal range. Temperature across the region dropped to few clesius, compelling people to wear woolen clothes.
Director Met Sonam Lotus told KNS that the low pressure system over the state casued rainfall in plains and snow in upper reaches.
Lotus, however, said that the valley will witness dry weather from tomorrow till October 23. But light rainfall may occur at one or two places.
He said that rainfall may again occur on October 24 and 25 which may again dip the overall temperature.
According to KNS correspondent, Kupwara received snowfall in its upper hills like Z-Gali in Machil, Sadnatop in Karnah belt.
Mughal road hills in south Kashmirs Shopian district also received mild snowfall. (KNS)
