SRINAGAR: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Monday decided to postpone its first convocation sine die.
The varsity administration had already postponed the convocation for one day. But keeping the prevailing situation in view, VC IUST Prof AR Trag said, we are informing our students that the convocation stands postponed sine die.
The convocation that already hogged headlines after a former MBA student refuses to take his degree from HRD minister, Smriti Irani was postponed at an eleventh hour with all preparations done.
Earlier the Convocation was re-scheduled to be held on October 20 in University campus, Awantipora.
The University expresses regrets to guests, parents and students especially those who had travelled from outside state/country to attend the 1st Convocation, Trag said. There will be regular class work from 20th October 2015 and all faculty, staff and students shall attend the University.
