SRINAGAR: Following complaints against a policeman who was facilitating copying in 10th class bi-annual examination at an examination centre in far-off Wadwan area of district Kishtwar, the Director General Police, Mr K Rajendra has ordered immediate suspension of the accused cop from the service.
The alleged involvement of the cop in facilitating copying at the said examination centre was brought to the notice of the Education Minister, Mr Naeem Akhtar by some locals who had forwarded a video-clip of the misconduct of the policeman to the Minister as a proof.
Mr Akhtar immediately took up the matter with the DGP seeking disciplinary action against the accused cop.
The DGP has placed the accused cop under suspension pending inquiry and if the charges are proved, the policeman will be dismissed from the service, Mr Akhtar said.
He said clear instructions have been conveyed to the district administrations and education department functionaries across the State that the Government wont tolerate any misconduct during examinations by any official or non-official and strict action would be taken against the persons involved in promoting copying menace.
